At Rathkeale House Hotel on Thursday 10th November Theresa Doyle McMahon launched a CD to help raise funds for two charities: the Friends of St Ita’s Hospital and the Butterfly Club in Rathkeale, a club for children with special needs. Theresa thanked the people for attending and said “this could never have happened without the huge contribution made by all the artists. When approached by me they all agreed to donate tracks from their CD’s and were delighted to do so, so I cannot thank them enough”. The music on the CD is a mixture of opera, classical, a little trad and instrumental, so there is something for everyone. Many representatives of both charities attended and fear-a-Ti Noel White did a great job and played many tracks from the CD. Theresa thanked some of the artists who were present: Limerick’s great tenor Michael Nash, Tony Doyle who was a member of the McCormack-singers, local young tenor Enda Walsh, Jean O Brien and Michael Doyle. She also paid a huge thanks to the Brendan Frawley of Brenhaven Studio, Limerick where the CD was put together. The CD is on sale at St Ita’s Hospital and at Johnny Dinnage’s, Rathkeale. A very enjoyable night was had by all. Artists on the CD are Tommy Drennan, Sinead O’Brien, soprano, Garry McMahon, (RIP), McCormack Singers, Enda Walsh (young Rathkeale tenor), Denis Allan, Limerick tenor Michael Nash, musician Charlie Reynolds, Michael Doyle, Theresa Doyle McMahon, soprano with the Garda Band and John Roche (RIP), Brian Hartnett, Paddy Hayes and Cáirde Ceol and Tony Doyle, tenor.
