Dairygold has announced its next phase of investment in its Nutritionals Campus in Mallow, with the installation of a new dryer and the construction of new production facilities and storage silos for raw materials, which will enable the production of higher value products.
Dairygold will also upgrade its existing powder stores, with new product storage, packaging and distribution facilities on the north and east of the site. Some works will require further planning permission, an application for which will be lodged shortly with Cork County Council.
Project information meetings are being held this week, where Dairygold officials are on hand to explain the proposed expansion project, and chat about any aspect of the plans that the public may wish to enquire about. The first of these meetings was held on Tuesday, and the second is being held today, Thursday, from 3-5pm in the Nutritional Campus in Annabella.Mallow Development partnership has welcomed the Dairygold announcement, describing it as very good news for the town and its wider area. “Following on from the €86 million investment last September, it confirms the co-op’s commitment to its Nutritional Campus in Mallow, with new drying facilities and increased production and packaging operations. The strategy of increasing value added products and opening up further international markets signals a positive future for the Mallow facility, and bodes well for the economic and social development of the town and the wider North Cork area,” a spokesperson said.
