Michelle Leahy, a former student of St Mary’s Secondary School, Charleville, was awarded a gold medal in biology at the Cork Schools Science Awards last Wednesday March 28th at Blackrock Castle, Cork.
Michelle was awarded the gold medal in recognition of her outstanding achievement in biology in the Leaving Certificate exam 2011. Her biology teacher, Ms Noonan, was also congratulated on a fantastic result. Sharing this very special occasion were Michelle’s parents and brother, Ann Doherty, Principal of St. Mary’s Secondary School and Margaret Noonan, Michelle’s biology teacher.
Michelle is no stranger to success having achieved 700 points in her Leaving Cert exam and is currently studying Process and Chemical Engineering at UCC.
