Details of a weekend of fun and entertainment planned for Ballyhahill on the May bank holiday weekend were revealed at a launch in the village last week.
Gerald Griffin’s Bord Na nÓg are running a fund-raising event, the White River Fest, at the club’s grounds at Ballyhahill on May 4th/5th and 6th.
This fundraising weekend is the first event of its kind in the Loughill/Ballyhahill area for almost 30 years. Sport, music, fun and promoting community spirit is the name of the game with a marquee event each of the weekend nights with something for every-one.
The fun starts on Friday evening with Teen Disco (strictly mineral bar only) catering for ages 13-17. All youth/school/club groups are welcome. Time 9pm and admission is €7.
Saturday night is céilí night with a Céilí Mór when music will be provided by the Taylors Cross Céilí Bandwith full bar, refreshments and raffle. Time 9pm and admission is €10
Sunday is an event packed day starting off with a Sports Day for children with many novelty events in the afternoon and the White River Football Tournament in the evening all culminating with a Barn Dance with barbecue that night. Traditional music followed by Wiseguys from Limerick with barbecue and full bar. Admission is €20.
