Galbally GAA Club this week presented a cheque for €11,481.61 to the Jack & Jill Foundation on foot of a well-supported and most successful fundraiser earlier this year, writes John Barrett.
The 50/50 split of the amount raised (€21,460.70, less expenses and charges) meant that €10,481.69 was assigned to each beneficiary, with Galbally GAA Club generously adding an extra €1,000 to the coffers for the Jack & Jill Foundation. The money will fund 660 hours of nursing for sick children all around Ireland. The Jack & Jill Foundation, which carries out such wonderful work, has been providing much needed support by offering vital nursing care for a local child, little Lucia Bourke, daughter of Paul and Ashley, who has a serious heart condition. Galbally GAA Club wishes, through the Vale Star, to thank everyone who helped make the fundraiser such a success.
