Garda Station re-opens in Pallaskenry

Pallaskenry Garda Station has re-opened following a 10-month refurbishment project.
The Office of Public Works commenced modernisation in Spring of last year.
During the renovations, Garda Alan O’Donnell was temporarily based at Askeaton. He is now back in Pallaskenry.
Thanks to the improve-ments, the station is now wheelchair accessible as a new ramp has been installed.
Accessibility for people with hearing impairments has also been improved with microphones being installed in the public office.
Pallaskenry Station is now more energy efficient due to a new air-to-water heating system powered by solar panels, new windows and doors, LED lights and external insulation.
An electric vehicle char-ging point will also be available.
The modernisation of Pallaskenry Station is part of the Modernisation and Renewal Programme launched by An Garda Síochána to ensure that the organisation can meet present and future policing and security challenges, and to provide supports for Gardaí to enable them to work effectively in delivering the national policing and security service.
The station can be reached on 061 393102.
