Kilmallock Library hosted a wonderful information, interactive and fun event as part of National Science Week on Thurday 17th November. Students from Coláiste Isoaef Secondary School Kilmallock and Kilmallock National School were treated to three fabulous shows of Science Magic. Dr. Paul McCrory from the Antrim based educational company, Learn Differently, devised and presented a fantastic show of science ideas using every day items. Students were fascinated and engaged in what was a very entertaining learning experience.
Science Week is Ireland’s biggest annual promotion of science. Events have been taking place in libraries, schools, college campusus and other venues throughout the week. Science Week seeks to increase interest in science, technology, innovation and engineering among students, teachers and members of the public. The aim of Science Week is to promote the relevance of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in our every day lives and to demonstrate just how important it is to the future development of Irish society and the economy.
