All-Ireland success once again for Coláiste Chiarain, Croom as the school won the Briery Gap Light Entertainment Music competition, held in the Cork Opera House Twenty students, across all ages and year groups, from the cast of the school’s hit musical ‘Our House’ were chosen to represent Coláiste Chiaráin and bring their swagger, verve and talent to the national showcase.
These students worked tirelessly with Ms. Moroney and Ms. Rowan since January, rewriting and retelling the story of Casey Street in 15 entertaining minutes. On Monday March 24th, these students wowed the judges and were crowned the 2025 Briery Gap Light Entertainment champions.
Success for the students did not stop there; Harry Moriarty also claimed the award for most Outstanding Individual Performance. Soloists included Harry Moriarty, Alisha Twomey, Oisín Moore, Mia Rouziers, Tomás O’Sullivan and Lily Hurley. These students have showed admirable commitment, teamwork and camaraderie throughout their rehearsals. Principal Gerard O’Sullivan remarked ‘We are incredibly proud of our victory at the All-Ireland Light Entertainment competition. Not only does it highlight our commitment to participation and excellence in the arts, it also is richly deserved for the students and teachers who give so much of their time and energy in representing our school’.
