Grace O’Driscoll, 28, from Buttevant and now living in Mallow, had a wonderful achievement recently in winning the annual President’s Prize at Doneraile Golf Club. The prize presented by current President Mary Duane was due recognition for Grace who had a record score of 54 on the day. Two weeks later, Grace came second in Captain Marian O’Donovan’s Prize. This is a remarkable achievement for Grace as she was unwell for a number of years with Cystic Fibrosis, but despite this she never lost her love for sport. Throughout her illness, Grace managed to study at UCC and achieved a Degree in Maths and Economics. Life changed immeasurably for Grace on Valentine’s Day 2019 when she recived a double lung transplant. With her renewed energy and determination, Grace joined Doneraile Golf Club and has made such wonderful progress on the golf course.
This is a remarkable achievement for a girl who was so ill. All at Doneraile Golf Club are extremely proud of Grace and wish her every success in the future.
