St Mary’s Secondary School in Mallow will welcome its new principal this week with the appointment of Andrea Murphy, who is replacing Yvonne Bane. Ms Murphy will be at the school tomorrow, Friday, to meet members of the class of 2024 who will be collecting their Leaving Cert and Leaving Cert Applied results, and she will also welcome the new cohort of first years who will be starting at St Mary’s next week. Before taking up the St Mary’s job, Ms. Murphy was Principal of C.B.S. Charleville Secondary School.
Yvonne Bane announced last May that she would be retiring after 11 years at the helm of the school, and her final act as principal was to attend a Board of Manage-ment meeting this Tuesday. She has been wished a happy and healthy retirement, and thanks have been expressed for her contribution to the con-tinuing development of St Mary’s.
