The Ballyhea/Charleville protest group was at the Dail last Thursday for a series of meetings with TDs regarding their newly launched proposals to lift Ireland’s bank debt burden. Group members met with representatives from the Sinn Fein party, including Pearse Doherty. Meetings were also held with the technical group and many individual TDs, while it is hoped to meet with Fianna Fail representatives later this week. The group received a very positive reaction to their proposals and formal endorsements have started to arrive. This is all part of the group’s efforts to secure a meeting with ECB and EC officials. Communication is ongoing between the Ballyhea group and Sharon Bowles’ office in Brussels with regard to this. Meanwhile the weekly march continues this Sunday in Ballyhea at 11.30am. Please support – it’s never too late to join in.
