On Sunday the 16th of December last a wonderful and very unique Christmas event was held at Cappagh House, with a special visit by the big man himself, Santa and Mrs Claus along many little helper Elves.
Close to 230 kids got to visit Santa as well as taking a sleigh ride, visits to the reindeer pen, pony rides and face painting, while mums and dads enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies in the cosy setting of Cappagh House.
A wonderful evening was had by all and already the requests are flooding in for a repeat again next year.
A massive thank you to everyone that attended as over a €1000 was raised in a 4 hour period, with the proceeds being split between two worthwhile charities, Down Syndrome Limerick and the Cystic Fibrosis charity TLC4CF. Congratulations to Gareth McArdle from Ballyadam on wining the big hamper prize, while Aoife Burke and Anna Carey won the colouring completion.
A big thank you to Bettie and Mike Morrissey for their hospitality and for making the venue available for the evening.
Thank you as well to all our sponsors and supporters.
A special thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time and input into creating this special event which is fast becoming the best way to experience Santa in County Limerick.
Planning has already started for 2013.
