Cork College of FET- Mallow Campus celebrates official opening of refurbished Student Centre and end-of-year achievements

Cork College of FET- Mallow Campus, a cornerstone of local education, proudly announced the official opening of its newly-refurbished Student Centre in a ceremony this Tuesday, 30th April. The event coincided with the conclusion of the ‘23/’24 academic year for full-time learners across a range of courses.
The opening was marked by the presence of Minister of State Colm Burke, esteemed members of the campus leadership, including the Principal John Healy, Deputy Principal Paul Murphy, Board of Management members, dedicated staff, and enthusiastic students.
The refurbishment of the Student Centre has transformed the space into a vibrant hub for student interaction and engagement. This significant enhancement is expected to greatly improve the social and educational experiences of all students at Mallow Campus.
Minister of State Colm Burke expressed his admiration for the project’s completion and extended his best wishes to the students for their forthcoming exams, saying, “The refurbished Student Centre is a testament to the collaborative spirit and dedication that Mallow Campus embodies. It’s a privilege to witness such progress and be part of this celebration.”
The event also marked the culmination of the academic year for students completing QQI Level 5 and 6 courses, ranging from Office Administration to Childcare, Hairdressing and many more. The campus community celebrated the hard work and success of all students, wishing them luck in their upcoming examinations and future endeavours.
Principal John Healy, during the event, highlighted the continuous support of Cork ETB and the campus staff, saying, “This project and our students’ successes reflect the strong community and support system we have built at Mallow Campus. Thank you to everyone who has played a part in making this year a success.”
As the academic year draws to a close, Mallow Campus looks forward to the graduation ceremony scheduled for September 11th at Springfort Hall, where students, staff and families will gather once again to celebrate academic achievements and personal growth.
