Eamonn Hallahan was named this week as the winner of the People’s Choice Award at the Iarnród Éireann Customer Service Awards 2016, and received his award at a ceremony in Inchicore. Eamonn, who works at Charleville Railway Station, is the first recipient of the award, which was introduced in 2016 and is based on customer feedback and corres-pondence and emails received which describe an employee who “gives excellent customer service with a smile” at all times. Iarnród Éireann Chief Executive David Franks said: “Eamon represents the quality of service to our customers to which we all aspire. I congratulate him for his success.” The Iarnród Éireann Customer Service Awards are now in their sixth year and are designed to acknowledge those across a range of roles who have excelled in customer service. A total of 215 colleagues were nominated for this year’s awards.
