Jim Barry, Managing Director of the Barry Group, was inducted into the CorkBIC Entrepreneur Hall of Fame at the third annual Cork BIC Entrepre-neur Experience. Jim, along with 23 of Ireland’s most successful business leaders, was invited to take part in the Entrepreneur Experience to offer 24 emerging entrepreneurs exclusive access to advice and mentoring. This event, which took place at the Trident Hotel, Kinsale, was made even more special for Jim, as event organisers paid special tribute to the Mallow native, honouring him with induction into the exclusive Cork BIC Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.
Reflecting on his achievement, he said: “I was honoured to participate in the Cork BIC Entrepre-neur Experience, but was especially proud to be inducted into the Entrepre-neur Hall of Fame. Ireland has a wonderful reputation globally for business success stories. Given the challenging economic climate, I believe that it is more important than ever that we support and inspire the next generation of up-and-coming entrepreneurs. They are going to be crucial cogs in turning our economy around.”
The Cork BIC Entrepreneur Hall of Fame was launched in 2011 to recognise successful entrepreneurs who have a vision to succeed, a driving passion for business and are inspirational figures within the wider business community. The CorkBIC recognises exceptional entrepreneurial achieve-ments of an elite group of men and women, paying particular consideration to their vision, innovation, courage and leadership in building and growing successful businesses. The Entrepreneur Hall of Fame also recognises what an entrepreneur puts back into the community, including the time they have committed to working with start-ups.
