Anyone who had reservations about turning up at Liscarroll sports on Sunday last could be forgiven for thinking that way due to the poor weather forecast for the day. Those hardy travellers who were out at every event during the year turned up in numbers far beyond expectations. Some showers did fall but everyone went home happy that a successful, entertaining and competitive day was completed. There was a great turnout of parents and athletes alike, far in excess of 2011. There was great support by clubs from all over Munster which can be seen in the results. During 22 consecutive years of the sports the same club officials and parents have supported us and we thank each and every one of them. The sports could not have been held without the sponsorship that we receive every year, without the support of the media including the newspaper and without the help of everyone who worked as stewards and officials to keep to the programme, stick to the timetable and get a huge programme of events finished in four hours. All of those who officiated were adult members of the club or parents of younger members.
While we got showers we were blessed with an otherwise perfect day, giving us a perfect end to a perfect track and field season.
