Maud Brennan, who will represent Sydney in the upcoming Rose of Tralee, is back in the family home in Glantane this week, and in the run-up to the Rose competition in Tralee in August has been busy travelling with the other Roses to various events such as the Galway Races. She also visited Fitzpatrick’s Jewellers and this week Mallow Credit Union where she got a great reception, and on Wednesday next she will pay a call to Mallow Day Care Centre to meet with staff and service users.
Maud emigrated to Mel-bourne in Australia in 2020 and during the Covid lockdown she worked as a nurse in quarantine hotels before moving to Sydney to work in palliative care. A busy few weeks lie ahead for Maud, but no doubt she’s loving being back home after two years and having fun with family and friends. As for the Rose of Tralee itself, she’s looking forward to meeting Daithí O Sé and hopefully bringing the Rose tiara back to Sydney for the first time.
