It’s time to get your fashionable selves in gear again as transition year students and staff from Scoil Mhuire agus Ide, Newcastle West, prepare for their red-carpet event, their annual Fashion Show which will be held on Thursday13th February 2014.
The event, which takes place in the Courtenay Lodge Hotel on Thursday 13th February, will feature the 2014 spring collections from over 11 boutiques, menswear and sportswear. Hair and makeup will be done by Enchantment Wellness. All proceeds from the night will contribute towards funding Scoil Mhuire Agus Ide’s highly successful Transition Year programme.
A spokesperson from the Transition Year Core team has commented on how the previous shows have been a huge success, both for the school and for the local business, which is especially important in these financially difficult times.
Ms Neasa Harris, Michelle Thompson, Ms Margaret Moran and Ms Breda O’Sullivan along with other staff of SMI have been busy co-ordinating this year’s event since last November and it promises to be a fun-filled night as well as a fashionista’s idea of heaven. Students will not be strutting their stuff on the catwalk but Transition Year students are also busy preparing a number to complement the evening along with a performance from Tradband. Certainly there is no shortage of talent in Transition Year 2013/2014
This year promises to be extra special in terms of entertainment, with past pupil and DJ Fiona McSweeney, as well as MC Richard Anton. There will be a bonus hamper of spot prizes and a raffle on the evening. The ultra-fabulous red-carpet event gets underway with cheese and wine reception at 7.30pm. Tickets are €10 each and available from the school by contacting 069 62443 or are also available from all TY students. Your support would be greatly appreciated!
